PULSE

"I built the design system that made a health platform safe to trust with your vitals."

01 The Problem

Clinical interfaces were inconsistent across Aether's product suite — wearable app, dashboard, and provider portal all made different decisions. In health tech, visual inconsistency isn't just a UX problem. It's a patient safety risk. A misread alert color or an ambiguous status badge has real consequences.

02 The System

PULSE introduced a dark-first token architecture with glow-based elevation, a dedicated data visualization palette governed separately from status colors, and motion tokens with a clinical mode override. Every component documents the clinical reason for its decision, not just the aeaesthetic one.

03 The Result

The Result A single visual language across 52 components and 14 pattern categories, built to scale from wearable screens to clinical dashboards. One token change cascades everywhere. Chart colors can never be confused for health status indicators. And clinical.mode=true disables all animation for EHR integration, zero motion forcing in critical environments.
